I-Tera MT40 is a premium low-loss laminate and prepreg material developed by Isola, specially optimized for high-speed digital transmission and RF/microwave circuit designs. It effectively bridges the performance gap between standard FR-4 and high-cost PTFE substrates, delivering balanced high performance and commercial cost efficiency. The material maintains extremely stable dielectric constant across wide temperature ranges from -55°C to +125°C, with steady electrical parameters even under W-band high-frequency operating conditions. Featuring a low dissipation factor of 0.0031 at 2GHz, it greatly reduces high-frequency signal attenuation and ensures complete signal integrity for high-speed transmission systems.

 

MT40 boasts outstanding thermal stability with a 215°C glass transition temperature (Tg) and a 360°C decomposition temperature (Td), supporting multiple reflow and lamination cycles for lead-free assembly. Different from PTFE materials that require complex hole processing, I-Tera MT40 is fully compatible with standard FR-4 fabrication workflows, eliminating special treatment procedures and improving production consistency. Available in diverse laminate and prepreg thicknesses with multiple copper foil options including HVLP, RTF and embedded resistor foil, it supports flexible customization for double-sided, multilayer and hybrid high-speed PCB designs.
