This accelerated testing equipment uses UV lamps to replicate sunlight effects while incorporating condensation and water spray systems to mimic natural moisture conditions.
Equipment Overview
The QUV UV aging testing machine subjects materials to alternating cycles of light and moisture exposure. This accelerated testing method allows researchers to determine material damage that would typically occur over months or years of outdoor exposure within just days or weeks. Common damage types assessed include bleaching, discoloration, gloss loss, powdering, cracking, clouding, blistering, embrittlement, strength reduction, and oxidation.
Primary Functions
This testing equipment utilizes UV lamps to simulate solar effects while condensation and water spray systems replicate rain and dew conditions. Temperature is precisely controlled throughout testing cycles, which typically alternate between UV radiation at elevated temperatures and 100% humidity in darkness. This testing chamber employs fluorescent ultraviolet lamps to simulate natural sunlight conditions combined with condensation effects. It reproduces environmental factors including ultraviolet radiation, rainfall, high temperature, high humidity, condensation, and darkness, combining these conditions into automated cyclic testing programs.
