Equipment Overview
The QUV UV aging testing machine subjects materials to alternating cycles of light and moisture exposure. This accelerated testing method allows researchers to determine material damage that would typically occur over months or years of outdoor exposure within just days or weeks. Common damage types assessed include bleaching, discoloration, gloss loss, powdering, cracking, clouding, blistering, embrittlement, strength reduction, and oxidation.

This testing equipment utilizes UV lamps to simulate solar effects while condensation and water spray systems replicate rain and dew conditions. Temperature is precisely controlled throughout testing cycles, which typically alternate between UV radiation at elevated temperatures and 100% humidity in darkness.
