The OPL583 is a Dual Channel Photologic Encoder Detector featuring a monolithic integrated circuit with two independent photodiodes, linear amplifiers, Schmitt trigger circuits, and output transistors, all managed by a common voltage regulator. Its matched dual-channel characteristics and fixed photodiode positions offer significant design flexibility. The outputs are TTL/LSTTL compatible and can drive up to 8 TTL loads across a 4.5 to 16 V range. Ideal for linear and rotary encoders, this device offers reduced component count and flexible circuit interfacing due to its open-collector inverter output.
