The Microchip TCN75A is a digital temperature sensor that converts ambient temperatures to a digital word with high accuracy. It features user-programmable registers for flexible temperature-sensing applications, allowing for user-selectable resolution, power-saving modes (Shutdown and One-shot), and configurable temperature alert and hysteresis limits. The sensor outputs an alert signal when temperature thresholds are crossed, with options for active-low/high comparator output or interrupt output. Its industry-standard 2-wire, I2C compatible serial interface supports multiple devices on a single bus, making it ideal for low-cost, sophisticated multi-zone temperature monitoring.
