The APS12450 is a three-wire planar Hall-effect sensor IC designed for automotive safety-related systems, developed in accordance with ISO 26262:2011 for ASIL B capability. It features an enhanced three-wire interface with interconnect diagnostics and a fault state for communicating diagnostic information, maintaining compatibility with legacy systems. Continuous background diagnostics are transparent to the host system, reducing the fault tolerant time. The sensor offers multiple product options for magnetic switchpoints, temperature coefficient, and output polarity, and can be matched with SmCo, NdFeB, or ferrite magnets. For a functionally equivalent three-wire switch device, refer to the APS11450.
