The DS18B20 digital thermometer provides 9 to 12-bit resolution temperature measurements, with a programmable non-volatile temperature alarm setting. It communicates via a one-wire protocol, requiring only one data pin and ground. The temperature range is -55C to +125C (-67F to +257F), with an accuracy of 0.4C in the -10C to 70C range. It supports parasitic power mode, drawing power directly from the data line, eliminating the need for an external power supply. Each DS18B20 has a unique 64-bit serial number, allowing multiple devices to be connected in a network on the same one-wire bus, controlled by a single processor. This makes it ideal for applications like HVAC, building and equipment monitoring, grain temperature monitoring, and industrial process control.
