Cryptotanshinone is a tanshinone-type diterpenoid compound isolated from Salvia miltiorrhiza and is a lipid-soluble component. Its chemical structure is characterized by a tanshinone-type core and specific substituents. This structure is closely related to its pharmacological activity. As a tanshinone-type diterpenoid compound extracted from Salvia miltiorrhiza, it possesses multiple pharmacological activities, including antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antiplatelet aggregation effects.
Anti-inflammatory and Immunomodulatory Effects: Cryptotanshinone inhibits the expression of nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 in macrophages, reducing the production of inflammatory mediators.
