What is Fullerene Powder?   

Fullerenes are hollow molecules composed entirely of carbon, and can be spherical, ellipsoidal, cylindrical, or tubular in shape. Structurally, fullerenes are very similar to graphite, which is composed of stacked layers of graphene with six-membered rings. Fullerenes contain not only six-membered rings but also five-membered rings, and occasionally seven-membered rings. Based on the total number of carbon atoms, fullerenes can be classified into C₂₀, C₆₀, C₇₀, C₇₆, and C₈₀, among others. The smallest fullerene is C₂₀. The highly symmetrical cage-like structure of C₆₀ gives it high stability, making it the most widely studied member of the fullerene family.

Unlike traditional antioxidants such as vitamin C, fullerenes do not have their structure destroyed after eliminating free radicals, thus allowing them to exert a sustained and long-lasting antioxidant effect.
