Industry Grade Sodium Alginate Textile Printing Thickener with 200-400 cps Viscosity Algin
Sodium alginate, also known as Algin, is a white or light yellow granular or powder substance that is almost odorless and tasteless. It is a macromolecular compound with high viscosity and is a typical hydrophilic colloid. Due to its stability, thickening and emulsifying properties, hydratability, and gelling properties, it is widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, printing and dyeing industries, among others.
In the printing and dyeing industry, sodium alginate is used as an active dyestuff, which is superior to grain starch and other pastes. Using sodium alginate as the printing paste does not affect the reactive dyes and dyeing process, while achieving brilliant and bright colors with good sharpness, high color yield, and uniformity. It is suitable not only for cotton printing but also for wool, silk, and synthetic printing, and is particularly applicable to the preparation of dyeing printing paste.
Additionally, it can be used as a warp sizing agent, saving a large amount of grain while making the warp fibers without raising, and providing friction resistance and a low breakage rate. This enhances weaving efficiency and is effective for cotton fibers and synthetic fibers.
Sodium alginate can also be used in papermaking, chemical processing, casting, welding electrode sheath materials, fish and shrimp bait, fruit tree pest control agents, release agents for concrete, and as a high agglutination settlement agent for water treatment.
