Solar Glass is a high performance low iron glass with very high solar energy transmittance. When toughened, its strength and durability make it the ideal choice for crystalline silicon photovoltaic application as well as for solar thermal collectors.Manufactured via a specialized thermal tempering process, the glass undergoes rapid heating and quenching, creating high compressive stress on the surface and tensile stress inside. This treatment enhances its mechanical strength by 3-5 times compared to ordinary float glass, making it highly resistant to bending, impact, and thermal shock. Even when broken, it shatters into small, blunt-edged fragments, ensuring operational safety and minimizing maintenance risks.
