Installation Steps
1. Park the bus on a flat and hard ground, turn off the engine, and fully cool down the axle system to avoid high‑temperature scalding and rubber thermal deformation. Fix the vehicle with hand brake and wheel chocks to ensure construction safety.
2. Remove the rear axle related accessories, drain the old gear oil completely, and disassemble the differential and drive bevel gear assembly to expose the oil seal installation groove.
3. Clean the installation groove thoroughly to remove residual old sealant, worn impurities, iron scraps and dirt, ensuring the installation position is smooth and clean.
4. Inspect the new oil seal for no damage, crack or deformation. Apply a thin layer of clean gear oil on the sealing lip and outer ring for lubrication.
5. Align the new oil seal vertically with the mounting groove, use a professional pressing tool to press the oil seal evenly and slowly into the groove until it is completely flat and in place without skew or gap.
6. Reinstall the differential, drive bevel gear and other disassembled parts in reverse order, and fasten all bolts to the standard torque.
7. Inject qualified new gear oil into the rear axle, start the engine for idle running test, and check the oil seal installation position for oil leakage or seepage.
Installation & Usage Precautions
1. Do not install the oil seal when the axle is overheated. High temperature will soften the rubber, resulting in installation deviation and early oil leakage failure.
2. Violent knocking with hard tools such as hammers is prohibited during installation, which will damage the oil seal rubber lip and metal skeleton and destroy the sealing performance.
3. The installation groove must be kept clean. Residual iron scraps and impurities will scratch the new oil seal and cause oil leakage.
4. It is necessary to select the oil seal with matching size strictly according to the bus axle model. Mismatched sizes will cause poor fitting and sealing failure.
5. Ensure the oil seal is installed horizontally and fully seated. Skewed and incomplete installation will lead to uneven stress and rapid wear.
6. After installation, do not drive with full load or high speed immediately. Run idle for 10‑15 minutes to make the sealing lip fit perfectly.
7. Regularly check the oil seal and gear oil condition during daily maintenance, and replace aging and worn oil seals in time to avoid affecting driving safety.
