Bright annealed strip is processed to retain a smooth, bright surface after annealing in a controlled atmosphere. It is often selected for components where appearance and clean surface condition matter. BA should not be marketed as identical to mechanically mirror-polished 8K material; the visual result and processing route are different.
For appearance-critical parts, the RFQ should define acceptable scratches, handling marks, film requirement, surface side(s), visual direction if relevant and final forming method. A bright incoming strip can still be damaged by slitting, rewinding or transport if packing is not controlled.
Choose BA for bright smooth appearance or when the downstream process benefits from a clean bright surface. Choose 2B when a standard functional cold-rolled finish is sufficient. For decorative mirror requirements, specify the final reflectivity/roughness or polished finish rather than using BA and 8K interchangeably.
