304 stainless steel is a universal stainless steel material with stronger anti-rust performance than 200 series stainless steel materials. It is also relatively good in high temperature resistance, which can reach 1000-1200 degrees. 304 stainless steel has excellent stainless corrosion resistance and good intergranular corrosion resistance. For oxidizing acid, the experiment shows that: in nitric acid below the boiling temperature with a concentration of ≤65%, 304 stainless steel has strong corrosion resistance. It also has good corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions and most organic and inorganic acids.
304 stainless steel pipe is a stainless steel pipe produced according to the American ASTM standard. Its main components include chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni), accounting for 18%-20% and 8%-10% respectively. 304 stainless steel pipe is also called 18/8 stainless steel, named because it contains more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel.
Chemical composition and physical properties:
The main chemical components of 304 stainless steel pipe include carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni). Among them, chromium gives stainless steel the ability to resist corrosion, while nickel enhances the material's high temperature resistance and structural stability. 304 stainless steel has a density of 7.93 g/cm³, high temperature resistance up to 800℃, and good processing performance and toughness.
Manufacturing process and application scenarios: The manufacturing process of 304 stainless steel pipe mainly includes seamless pipe and welded pipe. Seamless pipes are usually made by hot rolling, cold rolling or extrusion, and are suitable for harsh environments such as high pressure and high temperature; welded pipes are made by welding coils, which are lower in cost, but may not be as corrosion-resistant and strong as seamless pipes.
