Product Introduction
Raw material moisture is the invisible killer of high-quality extrusion production. This production line innovatively integrates a raw material pre-drying module directly within the PP raw material hopper. This module forms a sealed drying chamber at the bottom or inside the hopper, utilizing controlled hot air circulation to provide continuous, uniform pre-heating and dehumidification to the material before it is fed into the extruder. This "dry-on-demand" integrated design ensures that every single PP pellet fed into production has a moisture content of ≤0.1%, eliminating moisture-induced process fluctuations and product defects at the very source, laying a solid foundation for stable and efficient production.

What are the advantages of an integrated dryer compared to using a separate, standalone dryer?
The core advantages are shorter process flow, higher thermal efficiency, and space saving. A standalone dryer requires drying the material first and then conveying it to the hopper, during which it may re-absorb moisture from the air. The integrated design keeps the material in a drying environment until the very moment it is used, and the hot air circulates in a closed system with minimal heat loss, resulting in lower energy consumption. It also saves the installation space and cost of a standalone dryer.
Is a higher drying temperature always better for dehumidification?
Not necessarily. For PP, excessively high drying temperatures (e.g., consistently above 120°C) may cause raw material pre-plasticization or caking, which can block the feed throat or affect subsequent extrusion plasticization. The range of 80-100°C is generally safe and effective. The key is ensuring sufficient hot air flow and adequate residence time of the material in the drying zone, not just increasing temperature.
If the machine is shut down for an extended period (e.g., holiday), should the hopper be emptied of material?
It is strongly recommended to empty it. While the integrated drying module keeps the material dry during operation, static material inside a closed hopper during a prolonged shutdown will slowly absorb trace moisture from the sealed space. To ensure material quality immediately upon restarting production, it is advised to run the material in the hopper empty before a long shutdown or to remove and seal it for storage.
