1.Product Introduction:
After secondary cooling/setting and before winding,throughly removing residual moisture from the surface of the PP straps is crucial. This production line is equipped with four sets of independent high-pressure air knife units at the outlet of the secondary setting water tank. Each set corresponds to one product strand, emitting a uniform, powerful sheet of airflow that acts like a "knife" to rapidly and efficiently scrape off the water film from both the top and bottom surfaces of the strap. This ensures the product entering the winding process is completely dry, fundamentally avoiding issues such as unclear embossing, sticking during winding, mildew in rolls, or product corrosion (for certain modified materials) caused by trapped moisture, guaranteeing the quality and storage stability of the final product.

Q: Could the air from the knives blow the strap off course or affect its tension?
A: When properly installed and adjusted, no. Our air knives are designed to produce a broad, uniform laminar air curtain with gentle pressure but large coverage. By fine-tuning the air knife angle, the airflow acts tangentially on the strap surface, primarily generating shear force to peel off moisture, not vertical impact force, thus having minimal effect on the strap's stable running path and tension.
Q: Is the compressed air consumption high? What are the requirements for the factory air supply?
A: Air knives are intermittent air-consuming devices, operating only when the production line is running. The consumption per knife is not high; running all four simultaneously is a general load for a medium-sized compressed air system. The core requirement is that the air must be dry and clean, as damp or oily compressed air would contaminate the product surface, achieving the opposite effect. It is recommended to have a refrigerated air dryer and precision filter upstream.
Q: If only producing 2 or 3 strands, should the unused air knives be turned off?
A: Yes, for energy saving and noise reduction, the air knives corresponding to idle stations can be turned off. The air supply valves are typically independently controlled for easy operation. We recommend performing this action synchronized during shutdown for specification changes.
