Technical Highlights
True counter-current flow: Unlike many traditional shell & tube designs that have mixed or cross-flow patterns, the hairpin design achieves pure counter-current flow - maximizing the log mean temperature difference (LMTD) and enabling close temperature approaches.
No expansion joint required: The U-bend tube bundle naturally accommodates differential thermal expansion between tubes and shell. This eliminates the need for expensive expansion joints - a common failure point in fixed tubesheet designs.
Removable U-tube bundle: The tube bundle can be withdrawn from the shell for inspection, mechanical cleaning, or replacement - significantly reducing maintenance downtime and costs.
