Hot air blower, also called thermal blower, is a electric tool delivering high‑temperature hot air. It is generally divided into constant‑temperature and adjustable‑temperature types, widely used for heat‑shrinking, paint stripping and DIY repair.
The case of hot air blower is commonly made of high‑heat‑resistant, flame‑retardant engineering plastics such as PA66+GF (glass‑filled nylon). The properties of this material bring significant mold‑design challenges including high wear risk, warpage tendency and complex parting‑surface structure. 1. Reduce Assembly Misalignment
We utilize a highly efficient 1+1 / 2-Cavity Family Mold layout. This layout doubles production output per cycle while ensuring that paired housing components experience the exact same material shrinkage and molding pressure, preventing oval distortion.
2. Reliable Slider Core‑Pulling
To form external cooling vents and internal snap‑fits, we integrate heavy‑duty mechanical sliders with hardened angle pins and wear‑resistant guide plates, ensuring flash‑free side action during high‑volume production.
3. Prevent Gas Traps and Burn Marks
Guided by Moldflow simulation, we machine precise venting slots with a depth of 0.015 mm‑0.02 mm at melt‑filling ends. This enables fast gas evacuation, avoiding short shots and burn marks under high‑pressure injection.
4. Minimize Warpage & Cycle Times
We design independent, zoned cooling water loops to balance thermal loads across different regions of the case. This dedicated thermal‑management setup effectively suppresses part warpage and optimizes cooling performance to shorten molding cycle times.
5. Extend Total Tool Life
To withstand the abrasive “sandpaper‑like” friction from glass‑filled polymers, we manufacture core and cavity inserts from through‑hardened H13 tool steel (HRC 48‑52) or S136 stainless steel. The mold targets a service life of at least 500,000 shots.
6. Verify Sample Performance Prior To Shipment
Once mold fabrication is completed, we perform multiple trial runs to produce real hot‑air‑blower case sample parts. Dimensional inspection, assembly checking and defect evaluation are carried out against drawings. Any molding issues will be adjusted on the mold before shipment.
