| High Light | 16kW Hybrid Inverter ,48V Solar Inverter ,3 MPPT Residential Inverter | ||
The 16kW 48V Hybrid Inverter for Large Home Solar Battery Systems is designed for higher-demand residential energy storage projects that require substantial single-phase AC output together with a high-capacity photovoltaic input.
It provides 16000W rated output, supports up to 21800W of PV input and uses three MPPT trackers. The battery side operates on a nominal 48Vdc architecture with a specified maximum charging current of 250A.
A 16kW inverter should not be selected simply because it is the largest model in the range. It becomes more relevant when a residential project has a genuinely high simultaneous load requirement or a larger planned PV system.
The correct decision starts with the electrical loads that may operate at the same time.
Battery capacity in kWh tells you how much energy is stored. It does not by itself confirm whether the battery system can support a 16kW inverter under high load.
Because this inverter uses a nominal 48Vdc battery architecture, battery current capability becomes an important part of system design as inverter power increases.
The two “16” ratings describe different things. A 16kW inverter rating refers to power, while a 16kWh battery rating refers to stored energy.
A 16kWh-class battery may provide suitable energy capacity for some applications, but its current capability must still be sufficient for the intended inverter load.
The exact battery should therefore be checked for operating voltage, maximum charge and discharge current, BMS protection limits and CAN or RS485 communication before confirming the system.
Larger residential battery configurations can provide more stored energy and longer potential backup duration without changing the inverter's 16kW rated AC output.
These are capacity-planning examples only and are not confirmation that a specific battery model is compatible with the inverter.
The photovoltaic section supports up to 21800W of PV input with a maximum DC voltage of 520Vdc and an MPPT operating range of 50–450Vdc.
Unlike the lower-power models in this series, the 16kW version uses three MPPT trackers. The supplied parameter table lists the PV input current arrangement as 18A + 18A + 36A.
A larger residential PV installation may need to divide modules into multiple solar input groups because of roof layout, array orientation or the electrical characteristics of the selected panels.
Three MPPT trackers provide more input grouping flexibility than the two-MPPT configuration used on the lower-power models in this inverter series.
The final string arrangement must still be calculated from module Voc, Vmp and current while remaining within the inverter's specified PV input limits.
Rated AC output power and maximum PV input power are different specifications.
This inverter provides 16000W rated AC output while the photovoltaic input section allows up to 21800W of connected PV capacity according to the supplied specification.
The 21.8kW figure should therefore be treated as the maximum specified PV input, not as 21.8kW of AC inverter output.
A 20kW PV array is below the specified 21.8kW maximum PV input power.
However, total panel wattage alone cannot confirm the design. Solar string voltage and current must also remain within the 520Vdc maximum DC voltage, 50–450Vdc MPPT range and the specified current limits of the three MPPT inputs.
The 16kW model specifies a maximum charging current of 250A.
Maximum charging power is listed separately as 14000W at 56V. It should therefore not be described as a 16kW charging system simply because the inverter's rated AC output is 16kW.
Actual charging current must also remain within the limits of the connected battery and BMS.
The supplied technical specification lists a maximum AC input current of 100A with pass-through operation.
This should be considered together with the complete AC-side electrical design, including conductor sizing, protective devices and the applicable installation requirements.
The 100A figure describes the specified AC input capability and should not be interpreted as a recommendation for every residential installation.
Rated output: 12kW
Maximum PV input: 16.2kW
MPPT trackers: 2
Maximum charging current: 250A
Rated output: 16kW
Maximum PV input: 21.8kW
MPPT trackers: 3
Maximum charging current: 250A
Moving from 12kW to 16kW increases rated AC output and maximum PV input, and also changes the PV architecture from two MPPT trackers to three.
Maximum charging current, however, remains 250A on both models.

The supplied technical specification includes grid-tied, off-grid and hybrid operating parameters. Battery-mode output is specified as pure sine wave.
RS485, CAN, Wi-Fi and dry contact interfaces are provided for communication and system integration, together with a touchscreen interface.
The final operating logic should follow the project electrical design, connected battery system and inverter installation documentation.
The inverter series supports up to six units for single-phase parallel operation. The supplied specification also lists a three-unit arrangement for three-phase supply.
Parallel expansion should be designed according to total load, battery capability, phase arrangement and the complete electrical architecture rather than simply multiplying the power rating of one unit.
It can be suitable for a residential project with relatively high simultaneous electrical demand, but the actual load should be calculated before selection. A home with lower peak demand may not require a 16kW inverter.
The supplied specification allows up to 21.8kW of PV input. The final solar array must also comply with the maximum DC voltage, MPPT voltage range and MPPT current limits.
20kW is below the specified 21.8kW maximum PV input. The final panel quantity and string arrangement must still be checked against the inverter's voltage and current limits.
Three MPPT trackers provide additional flexibility when dividing a larger PV system into multiple independently tracked input groups. The actual benefit depends on the solar array and roof design.
There is no single required battery capacity. Battery energy should be selected according to household consumption and required backup duration, while current capability, voltage and BMS communication must also be suitable for the inverter.
The matching numbers do not confirm compatibility. The battery's 16kWh rating describes stored energy, while 16kW describes inverter power. Battery current capability, voltage range and communication must also be checked.
A larger battery configuration can provide more stored energy without increasing the inverter's 16kW rated AC output. The complete battery bank must still meet the inverter's electrical and communication requirements.
The 16kW model provides higher AC output, increases maximum PV input from 16.2kW to 21.8kW and uses three MPPT trackers instead of two. Both models have a specified maximum charging current of 250A.
51.2V LiFePO4 batteries are commonly used in 48V-class energy storage systems. Exact compatibility should still be checked using the battery operating voltage, current limits, charging settings and CAN or RS485 communication protocol.
