What is an LNB?
An LNB (Low Noise Block) or LNC (Low Noise Converter) is used for communications and broadcast satellite reception. Mounted on the satellite dish, it collects and amplifies the satellite signal, then downconverts it to a lower IF frequency for transmission over coaxial cabling to the receiver. Available in C-Band, Ku-Band, and Ka-Band frequencies.
What is a feedhorn?
The feedhorn is a directional component of the LNB that captures signals reflected from the dish while shielding against extraneous radiation. It directs collected signals to the LNB's internal electronics. Available in orthogonal, offset, and elliptical feed types.
What is a Monoblock LNB?
A Monoblock LNB contains two independent LNBs in a single housing, enabling reception from two different satellites with slight orbital separation using a single dish. Switching between satellites is achieved via DiSEqC signals. Commonly available for satellites with 2°/3°/4.3° or 6° spacing in Ku band with single, twin, and quad outputs.
What is a one cable solution LNB?
