Function: A secondary protective filter installed behind the main air filter, serving as the final safeguard for engine air intake.
2. Technical Parameters
Filtration Precision: 99.9%@2μm, effectively traps fine dust particles larger than 2μm
Filtration Efficiency: ≥99.5%. It can independently protect the engine in case of main filter failure.
Rated Air Flow: ≥4500m³/h, meets the air intake demand of large-displacement engines
Working Temperature: -30℃ ~ +120℃, suitable for extreme operating conditions
Dimensions: Outer diameter approx. φ220mm, height approx. 450mm (Compatible with air filter assembly of SY980H/SY1250H)
Structure Type: Dry-type, cylindrical with radial seal, installed in series with the main filter.
3. Material & Structure
Filter Media: Imported high-density polyester non-woven fabric with gradient fiber structure. Features even air permeability, large dust holding capacity, moisture resistance and anti-aging performance.
End Cap: Made of high-strength cold-rolled steel plate, equipped with anti-aging nitrile rubber seal ring for reliable sealing, high temperature resistance and leakage prevention.
Support Frame: Reinforced with internal and external galvanized metal mesh, anti-deformation and vibration-resistant, ideal for high-dust and heavy-vibration working conditions.
Manufacturing Process: Integral forming without adhesive splicing to avoid delamination and cracking. The surface is coated with water and oil repellent layer to prevent clogging in humid environments.
4. Features & Advantages
Ultimate Protection: 100% intercepts dust if the main filter is damaged or improperly installed, preventing cylinder scuffing and component wear caused by foreign matter entering the engine.
Large Dust Holding Capacity & Long Service Life: Specially designed for large excavators operating in dusty areas. Dust holding capacity ≥80g, which extends maintenance intervals.
Genuine Perfect Fit: Manufactured by SANY Sote Filters. Fully compatible with the air filter assembly of SY980H/SY1250H for easy installation and tight sealing.
Strong Environmental Adaptability: Resists high and low temperature, vibration and leakage, suitable for harsh environments such as mines and construction sites.
5. Installation & Replacement
Installation Position: Inside the air filter assembly, on the inner side of the main filter (safety filter position)
- Normal working conditions: Replace every 500 hours
- Harsh working conditions: Replace every 250–300 hours
- Inspect or replace the safety filter meanwhile when changing the main filter.
Installation Instructions:
- Clean the interior of the air filter assembly to remove residual contaminants.
- The safety filter is non-reusable after cleaning and must be replaced with a new one.
- Ensure the seal ring is properly positioned. Tighten manually only; do not over-tighten to avoid deformation and sealing failure.
6. Common Faults & Impacts
Clogged Filter: Increased air intake resistance, insufficient engine air supply, reduced power, higher fuel consumption and black exhaust smoke.
Damaged & Failed Filter: Dust enters the cylinder directly, resulting in wear on pistons and cylinder liners, cylinder scuffing and premature engine abrasion, leading to high maintenance costs.
Poor Sealing: Unfiltered air flows in, causing air short circuit, premature filter clogging and abnormal engine wear.
