Pre-Installation Notes

Front and rear bumper grille installation methods differ: The Yuan Pro front lower grille uses an internal clip-type assembly structure and cannot be removed or replaced independently. The entire front bumper assembly must be removed first to access and replace the grille. Rear bumper grille installation is relatively independent and typically does not require removing the complete rear bumper.

Professional technician operation recommended: Involving bumper removal and clip handling, lack of experience may cause clip breakage or paint scratches.

Front Grille Installation Steps

Step 1: Remove Front Bumper Assembly

First, open the engine hood and remove the retaining screws on the front bumper. These screws are typically hidden in the gap between the hood and the front bumper. Also remove the retaining clips on both sides of the front bumper, usually located in front of the tires and can be found by hand. Remove the bottom mounting screws, wheel arch liner clips on both sides, and upper front fascia retaining clips in sequence to gradually loosen the bumper. Handle with care throughout removal to prevent clip breakage, paint scratches, and light assembly impact damage.

Step 2: Disconnect Front Bumper Wiring

After the front bumper assembly is loosened, smoothly disconnect the wiring harness connectors on the bumper. If equipped with fog lamps, disconnect the fog lamp connectors. Remove the front bumper assembly from the vehicle and place it on a soft protective sheet to avoid paint scratches.

Step 3: Remove Old Front Grille

After the front bumper is fully removed, release the old damaged grille clip by clip. The grille is secured by multiple clips on the inside of the bumper. Slowly and carefully release each clip one by one—excessive force may break the clips. Clean dust, residual adhesive, and broken clip fragments from the bumper mounting surface to ensure proper fitment of the new component.

Step 4: Install New Front Grille

Align the new front grille for precise positioning, then engage the retaining clips one by one, ensuring flatness and fitment match original standards. After grille assembly, recheck that all clips are fully locked in position, confirming no misalignment, no lifting, and no looseness.

Step 5: Reinstall Front Bumper Assembly

Align the front bumper assembly with the body mounting position and reconnect the front wiring harness connectors. Reinstall all retaining screws and exterior clips in sequence. Carefully adjust left-right gaps and up-down flushness for even gaps and clean body lines. After confirming all clips are fully engaged, tighten screws to specification.

Rear Grille Installation Steps

Step 1: Locate Rear Grille Mounting Points

The rear bumper grille is typically secured by clips or screws in the lower rear bumper area. Open the trunk and inspect the inner or lower rear bumper to locate the grille retaining clips or screws.

Step 2: Remove Old Rear Grille

Use a plastic pry tool or flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the retaining clips. If screw-fixed, remove screws with the appropriate socket or screwdriver. Apply even force during clip removal to avoid breakage. After removing the old grille, clean dust and residual adhesive from the mounting surface.

Step 3: Install New Rear Grille

Align the new rear bumper grille with the mounting position. First confirm clip orientation and positions are correct, then press into place gradually from one end to the other. Ensure all clips are fully engaged and the grille fits flush against the bumper surface without lifting or gaps.

Function Inspection

After installation, visually inspect that the grille is securely installed, the surface is flat, and gaps are even. For the front grille, confirm uniform gaps between the front bumper, body, and headlights. For the rear grille, confirm tight fitment against the rear bumper with no looseness.

Important Notes

Handle clips gently: Grille clips are plastic and easily broken with excessive force during removal and installation. Prepare spare clips in advance.

Front grille requires bumper removal: The Yuan Pro front lower grille uses an internal clip structure and cannot be removed independently without removing the bumper—this is a limitation of the original structural design.
