1. Product Description

BA finish 304 stainless steel coil is a cold-rolled product manufactured to ASTM A240 standard, with a Bright Annealed (BA) surface achieved by annealing in a controlled hydrogen-nitrogen atmosphere. Unlike the matte 2B finish, BA finish is characterized by a bright, reflective, and smooth surface that requires no subsequent pickling or polishing — making it the preferred choice for visible kitchen appliance components.

304 is the standard 18-8 chromium-nickel austenitic grade, offering excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and hygiene properties. Its non-porous surface resists bacterial adhesion, which is essential for food-contact applications. The material contains no molybdenum, making it more economical than 316L while still providing adequate corrosion resistance for indoor kitchen environments.

The coil form is delivered in continuous lengths from 0.3mm to 3.0mm thickness, suitable for high-speed stamping, roll-forming, and blanking operations. BA finish coils are commonly processed into appliance panels, sink bowls, cooker hoods, and refrigerator liners through deep drawing and bending. The bright surface eliminates the need for post-processing polishing, reducing manufacturing cost and shortening production cycles.

These coils are specified for kitchen appliance manufacturing including refrigerator door panels, dishwasher liners, microwave oven cavities, sink bowls, cooker hoods, and gas stove surfaces. The BA finish is also used for commercial kitchen equipment, food display cabinets, and vending machine panels where a bright, hygienic appearance is required.

6. Usage Instructions

1. Cutting: Use laser or precision shear. Avoid carbon steel tooling contact.

2. Forming: BA surface is suitable for deep drawing; use lubricant to prevent surface scratches.

3. Welding: Use 308L filler for 304. Clean weld area before and after welding.

4. Cleaning: Use mild detergent and soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners containing chlorides.

• Handle with clean gloves to prevent fingerprints and oil marks

• Protect BA surface with PVC film during storage and transport

• Avoid contact with carbon steel during processing

• Store indoors, keep surface dry, avoid moisture during storage
