INTRODUCTION
Silicon carbide, chemical formula for SiC, is made of quartz sand, petroleum coke (or coal coke), wood chips (adding salt for green silicon carbide production) and other raw materials, then smelting in a resistance furnace at high temperature, and it can also be called electrolon sand or refractory sand. Silicon carbide is divided into two kinds: black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide, are hexagonal crystal, specific gravity is 3.20~3.25g/cm3, Mohs hardness of silicon carbide is 9.5.
PROPERTIES
Black silicon carbide is a hard, sharp, and highly durable abrasive material. It exhibits excellent thermal conductivity, high-temperature strength, and low thermal expansion. Its unique crystal structure gives it outstanding resistance to wear and deformation. Black silicon carbide is also highly chemically stable, making it ideal for use in harsh chemical environments.
APPLICATION
①Products surface matte treatment for steel, steel pipe, stainless steel structure, derusting by sandblast before spraying treatment;
②Used for all kinds of mold cleaning；
③Cleaning of semiconductor devices and plastic sealing tube before tin coating；
④Shot peening enhanced processing for medical equipment, textile machinery and all kinds of hardware products;
⑤Cleaning and of all kinds of metal tube and non-ferrous precision castings；
⑥The grinding and polishing for the monocrystalline silicon, polysilicon of photovoltaic products and piezoelectric crystal of electronic industry；
