Product Description:

For silica, the content of SiO2 is greater than 99℅ with processing ensuring a uniform particle size. Silicon carbide powder is also formed by various chemical processes.

Black silicon carbide contains around 98.5% SiC and is more tough than green silicon carbide, with this type used usually for processing materials with low tensile strength such as glass, ceramics, stone, refractory materials, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.

In comparison, green silicon carbide contains a minimum of 99% SiC, and is effective due to its self-sharpening qualities. It is mostly used for the processing of hard alloy, titanium alloy and optical glass, and also for the honing of cylinder liners as well as for the fines grinding of high speed steel tools.

Black silicon carbide is a super hard material, with a hardness of 9.5 on the Mohs scale. It is the ideal material for grinding and cutting operations as it has excellent thermal conductivity, allowing for fast heat dissipation.

Furthermore, it features extreme chemical inertness, making it perfect for use in harsh, corrosive environments. What's more, it does not react with most chemicals, further exemplifying its versatility.

 

Technical Parameters:

SiC possesses an extremely high purity level of more than 98.6%, and an incredibly low content of Fe2O3 of under 0.37%. Additionally, its natural color is black and it has a Mohs hardness rating of 9.3, along with a true density within the range of 3.20 to 3.25g/cm3. Further, its bulk density lies between 1.20 and 1.6g/cm3.

 

Applications:

The sand blasting technique has broad application in the field of industrial cleaning and surface enhancement.

From the perspective of industrial cleaning, it is usually employed to clean up molds, semiconductor device and plastic sealing tube before the tin coating. More importantly, it can also be used to take away the burrs of all types of metal tubes and non-ferrous precision castings.

Apart from cleaning services, it is also used for surface enhancement for medical equipment, textile machinery and various hardware products via a process known as shot peening. Furthermore, the grinding and polishing for monocrystalline silicon, polysilicon of photovoltaic products and piezoelectric crystal of electronic industry are also provided for achieving a smooth surface.
