The Yaskawa CIMR-VU4A0031FAA is a V1000 variable frequency drive for 380-480 VAC three-phase motor-control applications. It provides a Normal Duty rating of 20 HP at 31 A and a Heavy Duty rating of 15 HP at 24 A. Its dual-rating capability enables application in both variable-torque systems and constant-torque machinery, provided the drive is selected using the applicable output-current and overload limits.

The 20 HP Normal Duty rating is primarily applicable to pumps, fans and other loads with moderate overload requirements. The 15 HP Heavy Duty rating is intended for equipment requiring higher starting torque or greater short-term overload capacity, including loaded conveyors, mixers and processing machinery. Compatible System and Applications

The CIMR-VU4A0031FAA is suitable for compatible induction motors and correctly configured permanent-magnet motors. It can receive run and frequency commands from the local operator, PLC output, relay circuit, analog reference or serial network. Control-mode selection and motor tuning should reflect the required starting torque, speed range, response and motor characteristics.

Typical applications include industrial pumps, ventilation systems, conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, process machines and material-handling systems. For machinery with shock loads, frequent starting or extended low-speed operation, review the motor thermal condition and select Heavy Duty where necessary. Forced motor ventilation may be required when a standard self-cooled motor operates continuously at low speed.
