Rotary Drilling Hose is a flexible high-pressure hose assembly designed for fluid transfer within drilling systems where continuous pressure, mechanical vibration, equipment movement, and demanding operating conditions must be considered. It is commonly installed between rigid piping, swivel systems, mud circulation equipment, standpipe assemblies, and other drilling equipment requiring a flexible connection.
The hose construction consists of an oil-resistant and wear-resistant inner tube, multiple high-strength reinforcement layers, and a durable external cover. The reinforcement structure provides pressure-bearing capability while maintaining sufficient flexibility for installation and equipment movement.
A deepwater drillship operating with a modular drilling package required replacement of several flexible high-pressure hose assemblies during scheduled equipment maintenance. The original hose arrangement had experienced progressive external wear around areas exposed to equipment movement and contact with nearby support structures.
Hongruntong Marine supplied Rotary Drilling Hose assemblies according to the required bore size, working pressure, hose length, reinforcement configuration, and end connection specifications. The flexible construction allowed the assemblies to accommodate normal equipment movement while maintaining the required connection geometry.
Following installation, the drilling package completed operational checks before returning to scheduled service. The standardized hose specifications also simplified future procurement because replacement assemblies could be ordered using established dimensions and connection configurations.

The reinforcement structure is a critical component of Rotary Drilling Hose because the hose must withstand internal pressure while remaining flexible enough for practical installation. Multiple reinforcement layers can be incorporated according to the required pressure class and hose construction.
Drilling systems can experience relatively stable operating pressure as well as short-duration pressure fluctuations caused by changes in pump operation and fluid circulation. The hose construction therefore needs sufficient pressure resistance rather than relying solely on the nominal pressure rating under static conditions.
Unlike rigid pipe, flexible hose can accommodate installation requirements where equipment connections are not perfectly aligned or where limited relative movement occurs during operation. This flexibility is particularly useful around drilling equipment containing pumps, swivels, manifolds, and other components that may generate vibration or movement.
For maintenance teams, flexibility can simplify installation and replacement because the hose can be positioned within practical equipment layouts without requiring extensive modification of rigid piping.
Drilling equipment is frequently exposed to mechanical contact, vibration, mud, dust, moisture, and other demanding environmental conditions. The external cover of the hose provides a protective barrier between the reinforcement structure and the surrounding operating environment.
A wear resistant cover helps reduce damage caused by occasional contact with supports, equipment surfaces, handling operations, and other external mechanical factors.
Drilling equipment is rarely configured with identical connection arrangements across every project. Hose assemblies may require different lengths, bore sizes, flange configurations, threaded connections, unions, or other end fittings.
Once a suitable configuration has been established, the same specifications can be retained for future replacement orders. This improves maintenance standardization, simplifies spare-parts management, and makes it easier for procurement teams to identify replacement assemblies.
Hongruntong Marine has more than 30 years of manufacturing experience in marine and industrial rubber products. Long-term manufacturing experience supports practical understanding of rubber formulation, reinforcement structures, hose assembly, dimensional control, and application-specific requirements.
Rather than using one configuration for every drilling application, hose assemblies can be specified according to bore size, working pressure, length, temperature, transferred medium, connection type, and installation environment. This approach helps ensure that the final assembly corresponds with the actual operating conditions of the equipment.
Consistent manufacturing is essential for pressure-bearing flexible hose assemblies. Production control covers raw material preparation, rubber processing, reinforcement assembly, hose forming, vulcanization, dimensional inspection, and finished-product evaluation.
Industrial drilling equipment often requires replacement hoses throughout its operating lifecycle. Maintaining consistent specifications for repeat orders can simplify spare-parts management and reduce the time required to identify suitable replacements.
The main information includes hose bore size, working pressure, temperature, transferred medium, hose length, connection type, installation arrangement, and operating environment. Providing these parameters allows the hose construction and end connections to be matched with the actual drilling system.
Yes. Rotary Drilling Hose assemblies can be configured with different end connection arrangements according to equipment requirements. Customers should provide connection dimensions, flange specifications, thread information, or drawings when available.
The hose should be installed without excessive twisting, sharp bending, compression, or tension. The recommended minimum bending radius should be maintained, and the hose should be routed away from unnecessary abrasive contact. Proper support and routing are important for achieving reliable service performance.
Regular visual inspection should check for abnormal cover abrasion, cuts, cracks, bulging, leakage, exposed reinforcement, damaged fittings, and changes in hose geometry. Inspection frequency should reflect the pressure, movement, environment, and operating conditions of the drilling system.
Yes. Once the required dimensions, pressure rating, materials, connection configuration, and length have been confirmed, the same specification can be used for subsequent replacement orders. Standardized specifications can simplify spare-parts management and support more predictable maintenance planning.
