I. Working Principle
The single-cone ribbon vacuum dryer is a closed vertical unit that integrates mixing and drying functions. Its core working principle relies on the synergistic effects of "vacuum environment + efficient heat transfer + forced convection." During operation, wet material is fed into the top of the conical cylinder. Hot water, steam, or thermal oil—acting as heat transfer media—is circulated simultaneously through the jacket surrounding the cylinder and the hollow internal ribbon impeller. Subsequently, the vacuum system is activated to reduce the pressure inside the cylinder to sub-atmospheric levels, significantly lowering the boiling point of water and enabling rapid evaporation of moisture from the material at relatively low temperatures.
Meanwhile, the ribbon impeller continuously rotates, driving the material to spiral upward along the conical wall from bottom to top. Upon reaching the top, the material falls back down under gravity to the center of the bottom of the cylinder. This unique "lifting-and-falling" circulation motion creates comprehensive three-dimensional convection, shearing, and diffusion, ensuring that every particle comes into full contact with the heated cylinder wall and ribbon surface, enabling efficient heat transfer. The water vapor or solvent vapor generated during evaporation is promptly extracted and discharged by the vacuum system, thus achieving gentle and uniform drying of heat-sensitive, high-viscosity, or easily oxidized materials in a short period of time.

The unique cone design combined with ribbon agitation ensures complete gravity-driven discharge with no residue, preventing cross-contamination between batches.
Moreover, the equipment operates in a fully enclosed environment, effectively isolating it from air and combined with nitrogen protection, making it particularly suitable for handling flammable, explosive, easily oxidized, or toxic materials. The absence of internal transmission mechanisms within the cylinder eliminates the risk of material contamination caused by lubricant leakage at the source, ensuring high cleanliness and ease of cleaning, with inner walls capable of being polished to mirror finish. The low-shear ribbon impeller minimizes crystal damage during mixing, making it especially ideal for high-value products requiring strict control over crystal morphology. Its multifunctional capability—integrating mixing, drying, and even reaction—helps users simplify process flows while reducing equipment investment and factory space requirements.
