A: A wedge wire screen, also known as a Johnson screen, continuous slot screen, or wire wound screen, is a tubular filtration element made by winding V-shaped profile wire around longitudinal support rods. Q: What is the difference between 304, 316, and 316L stainless steel for well screens?
A: 304 is the standard grade for general water well applications. 316 offers better corrosion resistance due to molybdenum content, ideal for brackish or slightly corrosive water. 316L is the low-carbon version of 316, providing the highest corrosion resistance and excellent weldability – recommended for aggressive groundwater, marine environments, and long-term reliability.

Q: What slot size do I need for my water well?
A: Slot size selection depends on your formation sand grain size. The slot should be sized to retain approximately 40-50% of the formation sand (gravel pack design) or match the formation's D10 grain size (standalone screen). Our 0.5mm slot is a common choice for fine to medium sand formations. We offer custom slot sizes from 0.05mm to 10mm.

Q: Can I get custom end connections?

Slotted pipe has machined or punched slots with much lower open area and straight walls that are prone to clogging.
