Its air-core tapered cone winding distributes parasitic capacitance along a mechanical gradient, eliminating the narrowband self-resonance notches that plague conventional solenoid chokes.
Where a standard wirewound inductor self-resonates and turns capacitive, the HALT30012 maintains a flat, inductive high-impedance profile across the entire 0.1-40.0 GHz rated span, verified on a TRL-calibrated VNA with microstrip fixturing. The self-resonant frequency exceeds 40.0 GHz, so the choke never becomes a high-pass filter inside your signal path. Each production batch ships with measured .s2p Touchstone data (10 MHz-40 GHz) for direct import into ADS, HFSS or AWR.
