Plastic film capacitors use organic films as dielectrics. When subjected to over-voltage or over-current, they may fume or flame, leading to damage. Ensure proper circuit design and operating conditions.
1. Circuit Design:
Use capacitors within their specified ratings and operating environments.
Select the most suitable capacitor for your operating conditions.
Applied voltage (including surge and ripple peak) must not exceed the rated voltage.
Do not exceed the permissible current level; consider ambient and self-temperature rise.
Avoid rapid charge and discharge, which can degrade characteristics or cause breakdown.
2. Mounting:
Do not apply excessive tension or torsion to lead wires.
Mount away from heating parts, high voltage parts, and other components.
Strictly follow specified soldering conditions.
3. Storing and Handling:
Store indoors at -10 to +30 with relative humidity under 75%, avoiding sudden temperature changes, direct sunlight, and corrosive gases.
Avoid excessive vibration, shock (dropping), and pressure.
For storage exceeding 12 months, re-check capacitor characteristics before production and use.
