The Thickener (also known as a Concentrator) is a large-scale solid-liquid separation device based on gravity settling. It typically consists of a cylindrical shallow tank with a conical bottom, constructed from concrete, wood, or metal welded plates. The equipment concentrates low-concentration slurry (10%~20% solid content) into high-solid-content underflow slurry (45%~55%) through gravity settling. With a slow-rotating rake mechanism, the thickened underflow slurry is discharged from the bottom port. Thickeners play a crucial role in solid-liquid enrichment and separation in concentrators, and are also widely used in leaching and washing processes of cyanide plants for concentration, washing, and buffering functions.
