The 308 SW estate (T9, 2013-2021) has one of the longest tailgates in the segment, and on a cold morning the manual struts barely hold it open. This retrofit replaces that weak point with a motorised control device: two electric actuators, a control module, a plug-in loom and estate-specific brackets, all matched to the wagon body rather than the hatchback. The module ships pre-configured, so the fitter connects power, plugs in the actuators and the boot opens from the key, the cabin switch or the handle — no laptop and no dealer session.

The SW trim panel is held by clips along the glass edge and two screws behind the grab handle; a trim lever and a T20 driver cover the whole removal. The actuator brackets reuse the factory ball studs, so no drilling is required, and the loom follows the original routing through the roof-side grommet. Expect about 2 hours for a first fit and 60-70 minutes for a repeat. The install is fully reversible: original struts can be refitted when the car changes hands, which is useful for leasing and part-exchange vehicles.
