The first-generation 3008 (T84, 2009-2016) left the factory with a heavy manual tailgate and a single gas strut pair that loses pressure after a few winters. This retrofit swaps that arrangement for a powered system: two motorised actuators, a control module, a plug-in harness and vehicle-specific brackets. The module is delivered pre-configured for the T84 body, so the installer connects power, plugs in the actuators and the tailgate responds to the key, the cabin switch and the handle — no dealer coding and no diagnostic tool required.

The T84 tailgate trim is clipped, not screwed, so the job needs a trim tool rather than a drill. Bracket positions reuse the original strut studs and the harness follows the factory loom path through the rubber grommet above the hinge. Recommended labour is 2 hours for a first fit and around 50 minutes for a repeat unit. The kit is fully reversible: refit the original struts and the vehicle returns to factory specification, which matters for leased and part-exchanged cars.
Each set is packed in a printed carton with die-cut foam, then in a five-ply export carton with edge protectors. Bench testing covers 400 open and close cycles, reversal force verification, sleep current measurement and a 30-minute continuous-duty run.
