1. Product Overview

Nomay PET Floor Marking Tape is a single-sided industrial marking tape using PET film or a PET-based composite construction with a selected pressure-sensitive adhesive. Common purchasing names include polyester floor tape, warehouse aisle marking tape and workshop line marking tape.

It provides visible boundaries for pedestrian aisles, pallet positions, workstations and 5S visual management. The PET construction helps limit stretching during installation and supports straight, consistent lines.

Wear resistance, water and oil resistance, adhesion and removal behavior are selected according to the floor and operating conditions.

2. Product Construction

Backing: Printed PET film or PET-based composite film.
Surface: PET wear surface or an optional protective layer, depending on construction.
Adhesive: Selected acrylic or rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Adhesive side: Single-sided.
Formats: Rolls, liner-backed markers, arrows, footprints, positioning corners and custom die-cut shapes.
Colors: Yellow, red, green, blue, black and white; warning stripes and custom printing subject to confirmation.

Finished thickness includes the backing, permanent surface layers and adhesive, excluding any removable release liner. Confirm whether the specified backing thickness includes a protective laminate.

3. Specifications and Custom Sizes

A comparable PET floor-marking construction uses approximately 0.175 mm total thickness. This is a public-product selection reference, not a confirmed thickness for every Nomay version.

Request the required finished thickness, line width and roll length. Widths such as 25, 50, 75 and 100 mm may be used as initial selection targets; availability and tolerances depend on the selected construction.

For arrows, footprints, corners and positioning frames, provide the drawing, dimensions, color and quantity.

Peel adhesion must be defined with the test surface, specimen width, peel angle, speed and dwell time. Adhesion measured on steel does not directly establish performance on epoxy, tile or concrete.

4. Key Features and Buyer Benefits

Wear-Resistant Marking
The PET wear surface helps resist routine scuffing and abrasion. Select a suitable construction for pedestrian, trolley or forklift exposure.

Clear Visual Identification
Solid colors, warning stripes and printed symbols support aisle definition, storage organization and workstation identification.

Dimensional Stability
The PET backing helps reduce stretching during placement, supporting consistent line width and straight boundaries.

Water and Oil Resistance
Selected constructions can be evaluated for incidental water, oil and cleaning-fluid exposure after installation. Resistance of the film surface does not establish waterproof bonding at edges or adhesion to contaminated floors.

Removal for Layout Changes
A suitable adhesive can support removal when layouts change. Residue and floor-coating damage must be checked on the actual surface after representative service.

Custom Markers
Rolls and die-cut symbols support coordinated lines, arrows, pallet locations and equipment-position markers.

5. Floor and Adhesive Selection

Smooth, sound and fully cured surfaces generally provide better adhesive contact than dusty or porous floors. Evaluate epoxy-coated floors, sealed concrete, tile and other surfaces using an installation sample.

Unsealed concrete, loose coatings, moisture and oil can reduce bonding. Surface preparation or a different marking solution may be needed.

Rubber-based adhesives may provide useful initial tack. Acrylic grades may offer suitable aging or chemical performance. Neither adhesive family automatically guarantees longer service life or clean removal.

Select the actual grade against floor finish, temperature, cleaning chemicals, traffic and removal requirements.

6. Application Industries and Scenarios

Factories and Workshops
Mark pedestrian aisles, production boundaries, workstations and equipment positions.

Warehousing and Logistics
Identify pallet spaces, loading areas, storage zones and rack-front boundaries.

Automotive and Battery Manufacturing
Organize material positions, assembly stations, inspection areas and quarantine zones.

Electronics Facilities
Mark logistics routes and work areas. Use inside controlled cleanrooms requires a construction evaluated against the facility's particle, outgassing and cleaning requirements.

Food and Packaging Facilities
Identify routes and work zones where the selected tape is compatible with cleaning and hygiene procedures. Floor-marking use does not imply food-contact suitability.

AGV and Automated Logistics Areas
Provide visible route boundaries and restricted-area identification. Standard floor-marking tape is not automatically magnetic guidance tape or an approved optical tracking target.

7. Traffic and AGV Compatibility

Separate straight wheel crossings from turning, braking, wheel spin and pallet dragging. These conditions impose different abrasion and edge-lifting demands.

For heavy-duty areas, test the proposed construction at representative traffic locations before extending installation.

Provide wheel material, vehicle load, traffic frequency and floor condition. No fixed service life applies to every warehouse.

If an AGV reads the tape optically, confirm color, contrast, reflectivity, line width and compatibility with the vehicle's sensors. A visible route marking alone does not establish navigation performance.

8. Installation Procedure

Confirm that the floor coating is sound and fully cured. Remove dust, oil, wax and cleaning residues using a compatible method.

Allow the surface to dry completely. Check the selected tape's application-temperature requirements separately from its service-temperature limits.

Plan the layout and apply the tape without stretching. Avoid bridging cracks, joints or damaged floor areas.

Apply firm, uniform pressure, paying attention to edges and ends. Rounded ends or die-cut corners may reduce snagging where appropriate.

Allow the grade-specific bonding time before opening the area to traffic or wet cleaning.

Check the trial installation for edge lifting, wheel damage, cleaning resistance and adhesion before completing the full layout.

9. Cleaning, Temperature and Removal

Cleaning Resistance
Validate the actual detergent, dilution, contact time and cleaning equipment. Pressure washing, aggressive scrubbing and repeated liquid exposure can affect edges and adhesion.

Temperature
Confirm floor temperature during application and the minimum and maximum service temperatures. Cold-storage, heated-floor and outdoor applications require suitable grades.

Outdoor Exposure
UV-resistant or weather-resistant versions may be requested. Confirm sunlight, rain, temperature cycling and service expectations rather than assigning a universal outdoor lifetime.

Removal
Test removal on an inconspicuous area. Floor coating, adhesive, service duration and chemical exposure influence residue and surface damage.

Floor-marking temperature limits must not be taken from PET silicone high-temperature masking tape specifications.

10. Comparison and Selection Guide

PET and Soft PVC Floor Tape
PET can support reduced installation stretch and stable line geometry. Soft PVC may offer greater conformity. Compare actual constructions for wear, adhesion and floor compatibility.

Standard and Heavy-Duty Versions
Choose according to pedestrian or vehicle loading, turning frequency and abrasion. Greater thickness alone does not establish better durability.

Floor Tape and Painted Lines
Tape avoids a paint-drying stage and supports layout changes. It still requires surface preparation and sufficient adhesive bonding time.

Visual Marking and Anti-Slip Tape
Floor-marking tape provides identification. Where traction is required, select a version with suitable tested slip resistance.

Solid Colors and Warning Stripes
Use colors and patterns that match the facility's marking plan and applicable requirements; color alone does not establish compliance.

11. Optional Versions and Maintenance

Custom printing, logos, arrows and positioning markers may be requested.

Low-particle, low-outgassing, ESD-compatible, UV-resistant or slip-resistant versions require separate specification and model confirmation. Standard PET tape should not be assumed to preserve the performance of an ESD floor.

Inspect markings regularly, especially at turning points and heavily cleaned areas. Replace damaged or lifting sections to maintain clear identification.

Store unused rolls in their original packaging under the conditions confirmed for the selected grade.

12. Request Samples and a Quotation
