The rear cylinder, also known as the low-pressure exhaust cylinder, is one of the most critical large-sized casings of a steam turbine. It accommodates the low-pressure rotor and inner casing components, undertakes the final-stage low-pressure steam exhaust, and serves as the transition connecting component between the turbine and the condenser.
During unit operation, it bears combined loads of low-temperature wet steam, atmospheric pressure, vacuum pressure, thermal deformation and bolt pre-tightening force. Its sealing and structural performance directly determine the vacuum degree of the whole unit and affect overall power-generation efficiency.
