The front-middle combined cylinder is an integrated pressure-bearing casing that combines the high-pressure front cylinder and intermediate-pressure middle cylinder into one single casting. It accommodates both high-pressure and intermediate-pressure rotor stages and inner casings.
During unit operation, it endures compound loads including high-temperature & high-pressure steam, intermediate-temperature steam, cyclic thermal stress, mechanical loads and bolt pre-tightening force. This integrated structure reduces connecting flanges, cuts steam leakage points and improves overall unit thermal efficiency, widely adopted in modern large- and medium-sized steam turbines.
