Stellite Alloy Hardfacing Service for Steam Turbine Spare Parts
High-temperature steam turbine components such as valve seats, valve plugs, bushings, nozzle rings and blade sealing strips suffer severe damage from high-speed steam scouring, particle erosion, repeated opening-closing friction, thermal fatigue and high-temperature oxidation during long-term operation.
Stellite cobalt-based alloy hardfacing is the most mature and reliable surface strengthening technology widely adopted in the power industry. By overlaying Stellite alloy on the sealing and wear surfaces of turbine spare parts, we significantly improve hardness, wear resistance, high-temperature erosion resistance and anti-fatigue performance, effectively reduce steam leakage and extend component service life.
We provide professional customized Stellite hardfacing processing for new turbine forgings and on-site rework & repair for used spare parts. Our surfacing technology ensures uniform overlay layers, low dilution rate, excellent metallurgical bonding between overlay and base material, and avoids common defects such as cracks, pores and peeling.
Other Wear-resistant Parts: Shaft Sleeve, Wear Ring, Thrust Collar
Available Stellite Grades
Grade
Properties & Applications
Stellite 6
Universal grade. Balanced wear resistance, erosion resistance and impact resistance. Widely used for valve sealing surfaces under medium & high temperature conditions.
Stellite 12
Higher hardness, superior anti-scouring performance. Suitable for components enduring intense steam erosion and particle impact.
Custom Grades
Other customized cobalt-based alloy grades available on request.
Base Material Adaptability
We support hardfacing on various heat-resistant steel substrates: 42CrMo, 25Cr2MoV, 12Cr1MoV, F91, F92, stainless steel and other turbine dedicated alloy steels.
Complete Processing Flow
Pre-inspection of workpiece -> Non-destructive testing of base material
Surface pretreatment: Rust removal, grinding, cleaning to eliminate impurities
Preheating treatment (strict temperature control to prevent cold cracking)
Automatic / Manual Stellite alloy overlay welding
Stress relief heat treatment after surfacing
Precision machining (turning, boring, grinding) to drawing dimensions
Stable Surfacing Quality
Low dilution rate of the overlay layer; uniform, dense weld bead structure. No cracks, slag inclusion or porosity. Perfect metallurgical combination prevents layer peeling under alternating temperature loads.
Outstanding High-temperature Performance
Stellite alloy maintains high hardness at continuous high temperature. Strong resistance to high-temperature steam erosion, abrasion, oxidation and thermal fatigue, greatly lowering steam leakage of valve assemblies.
Cost-saving Solution
For brand-new components: Improve service life and reduce spare part replacement frequency.
For old failed parts: Repair & re-hardfacing can realize part reuse, greatly cutting procurement and shutdown maintenance costs.
Strict Quality Control
Each batch can provide hardness reports, penetration testing (PT) records, overlay thickness inspection data. All processes comply with power industry manufacturing standards.
Flexible Customization
Support processing of newly manufactured forgings as well as overhaul repair of old turbine spare parts. We can adjust overlay thickness, alloy grade and technical scheme according to customers' working conditions.
Application Scenarios
Thermal power steam turbine units
Cogeneration & heating turbines
Waste heat recovery power plant turbines
Biomass & garbage power generation turbines
Industrial steam turbines
Standards
Executable standards: ISO, ASTM, DL/T power industry standards, and customers' special technical specifications.
