Textile & Industrial Grade Sodium Alginate for Disperse Dye Printing
Our textile grade sodium alginate for disperse dye printing is a natural thickener extracted from high-quality brown seaweed, specially formulated for disperse pigment printing on polyester, polyester blends and synthetic fabrics. It delivers stable rheology, excellent paste hold-up, no reaction with disperse dyes, and prevents dye migration during high-temperature steaming and curing processes, to obtain sharp patterns and uniform color depth.
Different from reactive dye printing thickeners, this sodium alginate for disperse printing features low electrolyte sensitivity, good anti-flocculation performance, and easy washing-off after high-temperature fixation. It is widely used in rotary screen and flat screen printing of polyester fabrics. Meanwhile, it can also be applied to industrial welding rod coatings, ceramic glazes, and paper surface sizing. Our sodium alginate undergoes strict viscosity and heavy metal control. Each batch meets industrial standards, ensuring stable printing quality and consistent production.

Q1: Which viscosity grade is recommended for disperse dye printing on polyester?
A: Low viscosity (100~400 mPa*s) is preferred for high-speed rotary disperse printing. Medium viscosity (400~800 mPa*s) fits flat screen printing with heavy color paste demand. High viscosity grades are not recommended for pure disperse printing.
Q2: Will sodium alginate decompose under thermosol high temperature (180-210℃) in disperse printing?
A: Our textile grade sodium alginate maintains stable thickening performance during short-time high-temperature thermosol curing. It will not decompose rapidly, and can be completely washed out in the subsequent reduction clearing process.
Q3: Can sodium alginate be mixed with disperse dye dispersant and anti-migration agent?
A: Yes. This alginate has good compatibility with common auxiliaries for disperse printing. Pre-testing of small paste samples before mass production is suggested to verify formula stability.
