While recycled SBR has lower UV resistance than EPDM (it may harden and fade after 3‑5 years in direct sun), it is perfectly adequate for moderate‑use facilities or covered courts. The system remains water‑based, breathable, and fast‑drying. For projects that need joint protection but cannot afford premium materials, this is the most cost‑effective solution.

Q: Can I upgrade to EPDM later?
→ Yes. You can apply an EPDM‑based elastic layer over the existing court, but the cost will be similar to a new build.
