The HJ8080 Submerged Arc Column and Boom Welding Manipulator for Pressure Vessels with Weld Seam Tracking transforms welding operations from physical labor to monitoring tasks, elevating welders from operators to supervisors.
This advanced system utilizes an 8-meter crossbeam that extends deep into vessel shells, precision guide rails to support the welding torch, an intelligent tracking system to detect weld seams, and monitoring devices to transmit real-time images. The integrated system makes the most challenging aspects of large pressure vessel manufacturing controllable, measurable, and optimizable.

Remote Monitoring & Human-Machine Separation
Traditional cylinder welding requires welders to rotate with the workpiece while enduring fumes and arc light in confined spaces. The HJ8080 features remote monitoring capabilities, allowing operators to observe welding torch operations in real-time through periscopes or cameras at external control consoles. This human-machine separation improves working conditions and enables operators to work more comfortably, resulting in more consistent welding quality.
Fume Treatment & Health Protection
When using gas metal arc welding (GMAW), welding fumes present significant health concerns. The equipment can be equipped with a comprehensive fume extraction and dust removal system featuring a fume hood installed near the welding torch, connected to a vacuum cleaner via ducting. This configuration is essential for protecting operator health during extended welding operations on pressure vessels and similar workpieces.
Arc Light Protection for Clear Observation
High-brightness arc light often obscures clear view of the molten pool. The HJ8080 can be equipped with an automatic high-light shielding device installed in front of monitoring lenses to effectively reduce arc light interference, enabling operators to clearly observe weld formation and quality.
