Sodium Alginate — YITEX. The sodium alginate series includes industrial dye-printing grade sodium alginate and purpose-made dye-printing sodium alginate.
Sodium alginate has long been used in warp sizing, trimming paste, and printing paste, with its primary application being printing paste. It performs a specific function when used as an active paste and color paste. Fibre undergoes a chemical reaction with active dyestuff to fix the dye onto the fibre. During the dyeing process, the printing paste used should not disturb or participate in the chemical reactive linkage; otherwise, it will be fixed onto the fibre, making the dyed fibre feel stiff and fragile and producing poor color results. When sodium alginate acts as the printing paste, it does not affect the dyeing process between the active dyestuff and the fibre, nor does it produce the defects described above. It is therefore suitable not only for chandar ink but also for printing on wool, silk, and synthetic fibres.
Middle and low-viscosity sodium alginates are both suitable for the paste requirements ranging from sieve-style printing to barrel-type printing. In fact, printing made from low-viscosity sodium alginates is more stable, which makes high-content printing paste possible. This kind of printing paste can produce a compact film during the drying process, thereby increasing the coloration rate.
Mixed with asbestine short fibre and solidified by lime acetate, sodium alginate can prevent lime acetate from rising and affecting human health.
